We are all on a never ending journey of self discovery and we all have different experiences. Some people may have a seemingly easier path and some may have a path that feels like they are walking through an automatic car wash, whipped and battered until coming out shiny and new on the other side.
Self discovery is a lifetime process, no doubt. Do we ever have it ALL figured out? Do we ever have ourselves all figured out, ALL the time? We are ever changing. Our moods, our attitudes, our experiences, our growth is all unique at certain periods in our lives. Don't compare your journey to anyone else's. Easier said than done, I know.
There could have been a catalyst life event such as a break up or a death of a loved one, or a health crisis that began to make you dig deeper into yourself. These days, it is easy to get disconnected from ourselves, our inner guidence system, our own voice. You have to hold a mirror up to yourself and parent yourself. It is important to always take time for yourself and to ask these types of questions. Assess where you are at periodically.
Discover your strengths, acknowledge your weaknesses. Don't be afraid to try and don't be afraid to make changes. Don't be afraid to fail, to fall flat on your face at times, to hit rock bottom more than once. On this life path, you may feel lost many times and that is ok. You may even doubt every choice that you ever made up until this point. Emotions and feelings ebb and flow on the road of self discovery. One day you may feel confident and ready to take on the world. The next day, you may feel down in the dumps.
Have compassion for yourself. Have compassion for your journey. We are all still figuring it out. We are all trying to find the road back to ourselves. Is it always a fun process? Absolutely not! But it is worthwhile. So keep fighting for yourself , discovering yourself and most importantly, keep BEING yourself no matter where you are in your life story even if you haven't uncovered all the amazing parts of yourself yet. Let your light shine through to the world! Keep moving forward, you've got this!

Self discovery is a little bitch. It forces you to look inside of yourself, to REALLY look inside. It forces you to ask yourself, " Who am I?" "What am I made of truly made of?" "What are my desires and needs?" "Do I love myself?" "How am I presenting myself to the world?" And so it goes, the questions are endless.
